I started figure modeling about two years ago, often reenacting poses inspired by classical and figurative painting. I responded to these works I was becoming closer with, and used them as a basis for exploring a timelessness, thoughtfulness and craft they possess. Using photography as an illusory medium, my images exist somewhere between romanticism, appropriation and homage. There is a satisfaction, too, of reclaiming these feminine forms back into a female occupied piece by appropriating the gaze of the male painter.
