MISERIA, a space dedicated to painting, drawing and illustration, is pleased to present new works by the German artist Angela Dalinger (Cloppenburg, 1984). In her recent career, Dalinger has generated great interest among media and professionals around the world for her blend of controversial, autobiographical and popular subjects, and in her naive aesthetic, halfway between painting illustration. In her new work, the author delves further into her humorous side, dark of course, presenting characters in perplexing situations that arouse in the observer an unexpected melancholy.
Dalinger studied illustration at the HAW Hamburg. Since then she has self-published three books (Unsere Freuden in 2012 and Cloppin’ Wood and TWO in 2013) as well as collaborating with independent publishers like the Spanish Dehavilland. Her works have been exhibited in Berlin (2015), Porto (2014), Sacramento (2014), Copenhagen (2014), Tolousse (2014), Barcelona (2013), Lyon (2013), Antwerp (2013) and Paris (2012) . To celebrate the opening of the exhibition in MISERIA, the author will sign copies of her fanzine published Dehavilland.
